To provide clients served through the Salina office financial and stabilization assistance services including but not limited to: emergency assistance with rent, utilities, and prescriptions; homelessness prevention services; predatory loan assistance; mobile outreach services; and distribution of provisions like food, clothes, diapers, etc. To assist Department Director with training the Hays and Manhattan staff who shall start providing emergency assistance services from their respective offices and providing staff in those offices with support and backup for providing emergency assistance services.
Responsible for the REACH, Kelly Mead and Women-Helping-Women programs including, but not limited to, screening, evaluating and case managing applicants for these programs which assist individuals with disabilities,
catastrophic illnesses and women helping women.
Responsible for developing and implementing the mobile street outreach program within the City of Salina and the surrounding areas within the Diocese – this shall include, but not be limited to, conducting regular visits to places homeless individuals are known to congregate within the City of Salina and helping them connect to other services like mental health, shelters, emergency health services, etc. in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
Responsible for recruiting, organizing, and overseeing volunteers to assist with the mobile street outreach services.
Primary responsibility for helping to develop and implement the homeless prevention initiative for inmates being released from the Saline County Jail who qualify for this program in accordance with the established policies and procedures outlined in the ESG grant.
Responsible for developing relationships with Salina area Landlords, the Salina Housing Authority and any other local agencies by attending meetings and taking other steps to foster those connections which will assist the agency in furthering its homeless prevention and street outreach programs.
Responsible for the data entry into the MaacLink system for clients qualifying under the ESG grant.
Helps conduct the agency’s financial literacy classes as needed and as available within the office.
Helps with providing emergency assistance services and case management for clients served from the Salina office which includes, but is not limited, assistance with rent, utilities, prescriptions/medical items, transportation (bus passes), emergency shelter, food, hygiene items, diapers and other baby items.
Helps with organizing and maintain the Salina office food pantry and the other donations received in that office (including clothing, household items, hygiene items, diapers, etc.)
Helps with the agency’s annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas program as needed.
Perform data entry in EXCEL and/or other computer programs as required for grant funds and other monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting requirements.
This position does not supervise any staff members at this time, but may be responsible for managing and supervising the activities of volunteers who may from time to time work assist the Department with projects in the Salina office and as specifically articulated in the above paragraphs.
This job operates in a professional office setting around standard office equipment including desks, filing cabinets, computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, etc.

This position is expected to maintain reliable transportation as regular travel is expected to conduct regular street outreach within the Salina area and may occasionally travel to other areas within the Diocese. This travel is not generally expected to be overnight, but there may be occasionally be overnight travel to meetings or trainings.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business or non-profit management or other related fields; 3 years management experience; Advanced skills with MS Office suite of programs; Ability to speak Spanish
